Turning one, turning the tide: Rugby Eco Hub's First Birthday!

We are officially turning 1! As mentioned in Warwickshire World - Martin Bryant, chair of Rugby Eco Hub said "We’ve come a long way in a short time. The Eco Hub is filling a vital gap—offering fresh opportunities for people to do things better, together, and more affordably". You can read the full article HERE and also in the print edition of this week's Rugby Advertiser

Thank you to all of our supporters for allowing us to accomplish so much in our first year. With the aim to Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Recycle and Regenerate we have empowered Rugby residents about the community projects that Rugby Eco Hub hosts such as; Library of Things, Repair Cafe Rugby, A Nappy Library, Our Growing 🌱 Group and our very own vegan kitchen!

It's an occasion that merits a celebration! In a few weeks time we will be having a big birthday bash to celebrate our achievements as well as planning for our next year ahead. Once details of when and where this event is to take place details will be made available to our supporters.

In the meantime please read on to see what we are doing in the short term to celebrate!

A Birthday Celebration!

A birthday celebration for Rugby Eco Hub-1

As the earth completes a revolution, there's been a revolution going on in the heart of our community. From a seed as Rugby's freshest community hub we've thrived, grown together and now it's our birthday!  It may seem only a short while ago but we have seen such great change on our corner of Bath Street and Clifton Road since last October, our Earth-friendly revolution reawakening the heart of this cherished community space.

This Saturday 18th October we will begin celebrating Rugby Eco Hub's anniversary and our positive programme in that period of repairing the planet. Revel with our fixers and those that sew (and those that sow seeds and those that sow ideas) at our second Repair Café of the month which runs from 10am - 1pm in Betts Hall.

Please join us in being positively passionate about the planet, bring your things for fixing and clothes for sewing to keep them from landfill; it's always an informal down to Earth atmosphere in which no invites are required.

Come and visit our Community Garden then eat that tasty fresh food cooked collaboratively in our kitchen radiating our restorative recipe far and wide round town; Borrow a wide choice of otherwise costly household contraptions from our Library of Things to reduce financial burdens. Have a chat to our volunteers to see how you can support our hands-on activities and find out about upcoming events like Thinking Thursdays and our very own Nappy Library!

Come join us; there will be cake and collaborative celebration
-Bring your broken things
-Fix your things
-Be more friendly to the Earth

-Find how sustainability has local worth
-Be the change you want to see in Rugby
-Find how we've been growing together.

Together we will engage and empower Rugbeians to restlessly Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Recycle and Regenerate Rugby richly in our next exciting year!
