Last week, Garden Organic hosted a foraging walk from Benn Hall through to Caldecott Park. Two of our team, Patrick and Kirsty joined the walk and looked at the differences between Chestnuts and what ones you can eat and we found herbs planted at the entrance of Caldecott including a huge section of Rosemary.
It was very informative and we even made tea using dried herbs, flowers and fruit. We would very much like to go again if we had the opportunity!
Volunteers Barbecue
Thank you to everyone that came to our volunteers BBQ. We all had a great time and the food was yummy too!
A special thank you to Becky, Alex, Becca and Maggie. Becky and Maggie came early to make sure everything was set up and ready to go, Alex was our BBQ man of the hour and Becca made the most amazing Nectarine Tart!
We all had so much fun the only picture we managed to get was of Patrick's kebabs!
We had another great week at the Repair Cafe last week, from vacuums to dishwashers this week!
We are still on the look out for fixers that would like to join in, so if you are handy with a screwdriver, a needle or Operating Systems come join in the fun on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month!
Our Growing 🌱 Group publish a leaflet on growing your own produce. Please find their new leaflet HERE
Whilst at the Garden Organic foreign walk, Patrick our trustee, was able to highlight the amazing work of our Growing 🌱 Group and its planters in Caldecott Park. Coming to the end of harvesting our planter still looked amazing!
Then on Saturday our lovely kitchen team made lunch and it looked and tasted so good!
We had stuffed courgettes with salad followed by Apple with Banana Ice Cream!
Hats off to the chef!
We meet up regularly and communicate through our WhatsApp group. Please click to join the group, find out about our future activities, and help us both to maintain and water the planters as well as help plan our future growing projects across the Borough.
The Library of Things have now introduced more products which you can find on our catalogue HERE.

If you are having a spring clean and see some items that you would like to donate please contact us!
We are also hosting Library of Things working parties on the 20th August and 1st September. Come along if you are able to help!
As the Library of Things continues to grow, we would love it if more and more people start using this amazing community resource. You can help make this a reality by distributing flyers to the local community. If this is something you feel you could help with, simply come to the Hub to collect some flyers and let us the know the street(s) you are able to do. You can find the list of priority streets here.
