Apple Pressing @ Rugby Eco Hub

Saturday 4th October from 10am-1pm

Rugby Eco Hub, Betts Hall at the top of Bath St.

Squeeze delicious juice from your own apples (and put it in your own bottles) in the garden behind the Eco Hub at the top of Bath St. (follow the signs or ask!). Bring a shopping bag with up to 8kg apples and enough bottles for the juice – about 4 litres juice from 8kg apples.

It will take about 15 minutes to complete the process. Expert guidance will be provided on how to prepare and squeeze your apples using the specialist equipment and we’ll give you information about how to preserve the juice at home.

Although all are welcome, by booking an Eventbrite ticket (1 per person) for an hourly slot starting from 10am-11am; 11am-12 noon; 12 noon-1pm, you can jump the queue! Book your tickets HERE

See you there...

(NB There will be some bottles of juice to take away for a donation (suggest £4) and the café should be serving apple treats)

This is an activity of Rugby Eco Hub’s Growing 🌱 Group, one of our Community Projects

A Saturday to Remember!

Rugby Eco Hub at the Food Festival and the Craft Fair in Rugby Art Gallery and Museum!

Mayor@REHstand_Rugby Food Festival

We were delighted to welcome the Mayor of Rugby, Councillor Barbara Brown, as well as her fellow councillors Maggie O'Rourke (Benn Ward) and Neil Sandison (Eastlands Ward), both of whom are also valued Trustees of Rugby Eco Hub.

We certainly had a busy weekend, Rugby Eco Hub was represented at two stalls. At the Rugby Art Gallery and Museum (RAGM) we were amongst many charitable organisations that were supporting RAGM and the arts and crafts fair that they were hosting. We had many visitors to talk to about the wonderful things we do at the Eco Hub.

Visitors were interested in all the activities we carry out in the framework of Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Recycle and Regenerate. New people will be joining our low-cost Library of Things where you can borrow a wide-range of tools and household items, including that yellow deck scrubber on display!  Our twice monthly Repair Café proves ever popular – it keeps items out of landfill by making them useful again. And there was great interest in our Growing🌱Group’s Apple Pressing day the Eco Hub on 4th October – delicious apple juice was available to taste.

a stack of reusable nappies-1

Rugby Nappy Library

Rugby Eco Hub are opening Rugby's reusable nappy library. In an effort to crack down on disposable nappies going to landfill, reusable nappies are easy to use, easy to clean and the best thing... sustainable!

We understand that reusables can be expensive when you first get them but when you weigh up the costs of all the packs of disposables you buy there is a huge saving.

So whether you are wanting to try them out first or if you are just curious to see what brands best suit you, let us know, come talk to us and we can help you start your sustainable family journey.
