2026 has already been a fantastic start for us, Betts Cafe has started their monthly Shopper's Lunch menus, Repair Cafe Rugby has been represented at parliament and the Growing 🌱 Group has been approached to take care of a new allotment plot. We would like help growing more and to expand to help the wider Rugby community.
With your help we can expand our Library of Things to include new sites and help keep Betts Cafe open throughout the week.

Plant Swap
Saturday 2nd May, the Eco Hub, 10am - 1pm
Bring your spare plants and seedlings to swap with other gardeners: veg plants, flowers and herbaceous perennials - houseplants too!
Nothing to swap? You are welcome to take some plants and seedlings (for a small donation).
Delicious lunches will be available in our café from 12:30pm

Community Energy
We held our first public meeting to discuss Community Energy, like minded people came together to discuss what can be done about rising energy prices and what we can do in the community to keep costs down!
The first meeting was a success; we have created an organising committee and are now sharing ideas about our next steps.

Betts Cafe
A huge thank you to our kitchen volunteers for a fantastic Persian lunch. Not only did we have meals being enjoyed at Betts Cafe but also had take away orders for those partaking in the Rugby Food and Drinks Festival!

Food Waste and Recycling
Come to learn about the new food waste collection service that is being rolled out by Rugby Borough Council.
Alex Becker will go through the Do's and Don'ts, How it will work and what to expect.
This is a free event but a suggested donation of £2 is appreciated
Doors open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start.
Repair Cafe Rugby
Thanks to everyone that came along to our End of 10 session last month. For those of you that want to take things further and look at how we can begin the change over from Windows 10 to your chosen flavour of Linux or Chrome Flex, we are now ready to start talking details.
If you would like to contact the Repair Cafe (repaircafe@gmail.com) then we can start doing smaller sessions talking about how to ensure that we can back up everything that you will want to keep (photos, documents, bookmarks, music and other files).
If you already have a USB drive, bring it along and we can see if it's suitable. If not, we can help you choose which one to buy. These are not only handy for the change over, but can also be used for backups in future.
We'll also talk to you about which applications you'll want to use. There's browsers to use the internet, office suites, image editing programs, games and loads more.
So email us now and we can agree a time for you to come along and take the next step to keep your existing PC productive and secure.

Repair Cafe Pop Ups this month:
Brownsover Community Centre on the 22nd April at 10am - 12pm
Come and help us show how anyone can Grow Tasty Food in Small Spaces
Throughout April, every Saturday from 10:30am - 12:30pm, we will be meeting on the patio behind the Eco Hub to prepare the planters in the demonstration area.
Also, we're preparing the planter in Caldecott Park.
Our Library of Things project is promoting renting rather than buying so that we do not use more Carbon creating new. We recently started weighing our items so we can get an accurate amount of Carbon that we save in this project, the good news is - It works! As of April 2026 the Library of Things has now saved 1,107 KG of Carbon!
We are hoping to do a Pop Up Repair Cafe in Brownsover Community Centre and Hoskyn Centre where volunteers will bring along our online Library of Things catalogue so you can have a look at what our library has in store!
Hoskyn is on the 29th April at 10am - 2pm

After a conversation at a Repair Cafe we set out on a mission to source some Zip Sliders, unfortunately it was quite expensive!
One of our sewers, Sarah, reached out to William Gee - Dressmaking, Tailoring and Sewing Supplies and they were happy to donate to us.
So a huge thank you to everyone at William Gee for a donation of 200 brand new zips!
Gaia Yin Yoga

Rachel and Gaia Yin Yoga are staying on at Rugby Eco Hub!
Join us on a Sunday morning to relax the body, strengthen your core and have a good time with "Ease into Sunday" at 10am - 11am.
Rugby Unwrapped is looking for volunteers to help in the shop located by Betts Hall. Volunteers are needed on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, hours to be discussed.

As the Library of Things continues to grow, we would love it if more and more people start using this amazing community resource. You can help make this a reality by distributing flyers to the local community. If this is something you feel you could help with, simply come to the Eco Hub to collect some flyers and let us the know the street(s) you are able to do.
