HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Happy New Year! As we welcome 2026 we want to thank you for your support, partnership and dedication to us and our vision. All of your help meant we were able to accomplish a great deal, we managed to hold Repair Cafés in Brownsover, held an explanatory session at Abbots Farm Junior School, launched our first Reusable Nappy Library and even managed to get on the radio!
We hope that you will join us in filling this year with amazing projects, workshops and activities that help the people of Rugby to
Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Recycle and Regenerate!

The New Year is here and new for 2026 we intend to host a meeting bringing together a broad group of people who have a common interest in local travel.
The initial aim is for this group to draft a survey of local travel and transport needs in January and then as the responses come in to use these findings to steer the building of a programme of events on this topic over 2026.
From walkers to cyclists and rail users, EV drivers to motability experts - WE NEED YOU!
Are you a part of the Reclaim the Streets or the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust (formerly Sustrans) movements or other local travel related forums? This new Travel project group will make movements to endeavour to change Rugby’s travel habits and ask for better transport infrastructure.
If you would like to be involved please contact us ASAP via info@rugbyecohub.org putting 2026 TRAVEL PROJECT in your email's subject line.
Growing🌱Group
A new Cycle Stand Planter like this one has been given to us by Councillor Senthil Karadiar from his Warwickshire County Council Funds. We will be proudly putting it outside the Eco Hub in the near future.
The Growing🌱Group has big plans for 2026. With support from our energetic volunteers, we aim to develop the demonstration area behind the Eco Hub, in Caldecott Park and The Pleasance Herb Garden to show, even more clearly, how everyone can grow a diversity of fresh and tasty vegetables and herbs in any outdoor space, cheaply, organically and naturally. We’re also planning to extend support for biodiverse food growing across the borough.
But we need more help. Pleasesign up here if you have an hour or two available to help us plant, weed, water and harvest at any time throughout the year. It’s energising, fun, and is great for improving well-being… And come to ournext session this Saturday 17th January at 10:30am-12:30pm to work with us as we sort out the demonstration area behind the Eco Hub. A delicious lunch is also on offer!!
There’s lots of events planned as well (see details in the events list below):
2 Fruit Tree Pruning Workshops on the 18th and 31st January and Rugby Seed Swap on Valentine’s Day 14th February. We will organise further food preservation workshops and, with more volunteer support, engagement with other like-minded groups across the Borough on biodiversity regeneration through food growing; improving community food resilience; and greening back alleys! Do join us.
Join us for the annual Rugby Seed Swap here at the Eco Hub!
You are welcome to bring home-saved and commercial seeds, organic and non-organic, flowers, vegetables and even those half used packets you have lying around!
Come and swap your seeds but if you are just starting out and don't have any of your own - don't worry! You can make a donation for seeds (suggested donation of 75p per pack)
Rugby Nappy Library has launched and is very excited to help parents to be, new parents and just those that are interested in making a change.
At the library we have pre-made packs that have up to 20 nappies in, a washing guide and a fitting guide. We have made packs for newborns all the way up to potty training, with a mixture of brands so you really can try to see what's best for you.
2026 brings more opportunities for Rugby Nappy Library! We are looking for a volunteer to help us lead the nappy library and to help with our outreach programme. If you are interested in getting involved please contact us!
Come see us at the Eco Hub, message us on Facebook or email us at info@rugbyecohub.org for more information about borrowing
Next month we are excited to have our very own Alex Van Randwyck join us to run a workshop on Sustainability in Sport!.

As the Library of Things continues to grow, we would love it if more and more people start using this amazing community resource. You can help make this a reality by distributing flyers to the local community. If this is something you feel you could help with, simply come to the Eco Hub to collect some flyers and let us the know the street(s) you are able to do.
