Newsletter Update!
As you may have noticed our newsletter was not published fortnightly. Things are changing over here at Rugby Eco Hub and we are focusing on celebrating our work, our volunteers and most importantly upcoming events!
Our newsletter will now be monthly on the first Thursday of the month. but do not worry if there is something extra special we will still contact you with a special edition!

Rugby Eco Hub celebrated its first birthday in October and we thought what other way to celebrate than a birthday party! Our birthday even made the Rugby Advertiser - You can read the full article HERE
At the end of the month we have organised a fun packed day of celebration including a celebration of our work over the year, a Hub cooked lunch (yum!), then a charity auction all accompanied by a live band.

Green Drinks
7th November - Seven Stars, 7:30pm - 10:30pm
For all of you that are keen on the environment, professionally or personally, Green Drinks is a social event where like minded people get together. They meet every month so keep tabs on useful dates in upcoming newsletters to keep up to date!
Thinking Thursdays - Act on Energy
Energy Efficiency in the Home - 13th November 7:00pm - 9:00pm, The Eco Hub
Join us at The Eco Hub for an exciting Thinking Thursday all about energy efficiency within your home.
Act on Energy have graciously accepted our invitation to give.a talk on energy efficiency, retrofitting a house and what we can do to save money on our energy bills.
Doors open at 7:00pm for a 7:30 start, this is a free event but donations are welcomed.
Money Saving Workshop - Rugby Library
14th November - 9:30am - 12:30am
Rugby Library are busy with an extremely useful workshop, how to save money! With the cost of living going up for most people Rugby businesses and charities are coming together to talk to residents of Rugby about how they can save money.

Kind Communities, Kind Food
15th November - Rugby Methodist Church, 11am - 3pm
Come join us in learning how we can improve our food resilience, affordability and how to eat sustainably.
- Watch live cooking demonstrations with exciting recipes to try at home - Get a free health check and advice on healthy living - Receive expert income and money-saving tips - Free refreshments, snacks, goody bags, and hygiene products - Limited slow cookers and air fryers giveaway - Register to become a ‘Food Champion’ and help promote local food sources

Repair Cafe Rugby is going on the road!
Monday 17th November - Rugby Train Station, 10am - 12pm
Saturday 22nd November - St Oswald's Church, 10am -12pm
Repair Cafe Rugby have been invited to hold a pop up Repair Cafe at Rugby Train Station and New Bilton to share the amazing sessions we have.
Our team of fixers will be at the Rugby station to help out with some fixes from the public and staff and then onto New Bilton to hold a pop up at St Oswald's. So come to your closest event - Or both! - and our team of fixers and hosts will get you up and running again!
No appointment needed, the session is free to all however, please consider donating in the session so that we are able to do more pop ups!
Get hands-on with sauerkraut making and learn the ins and outs of pressure canning in this fun, in-person class. Bring your curiosity and leave with skills to keep your foods fresh and tasty all year round. Don't miss out on this tasty adventure!

Volunteer Your Time - Volunteers Needed!
Rugby Eco Hub are always looking for volunteers to help with their many events, projects and appearances. Below of a few of the volunteer positions we are looking for:

Supporting the Library of Things
If you are having a spring clean and see some items that you would like to donate please contact us!
As the Library of Things continues to grow, we would love it if more and more people start using this amazing community resource. You can help make this a reality by distributing flyers to the local community. If this is something you feel you could help with, simply come to the Hub to collect some flyers and let us the know the street(s) you are able to do. You can find the list of priority streets here.
From Thursday 5th June, we are fortunate to be able to offer Knitting Classes at Rugby Eco Hub, kindly hosted by Irina Meier. We welcome absolute beginners, rusty old-timers and unsure novices, but also experienced knitters might be interested as the 'continental knitting technique' will be shown.

FreVktchn, the Eco Hub, 3pm-5pm
FreVktchn is a charity organisation that helps vulnerable people, if they need a hot meal or advise on benefits or housing, FreVktchn is there to help.
They hold their free meals in a session at The eco hub every Saturday 3pm - 5pm and is open to all that may need it,
If you, someone that you know or someone you meet in the street may need some help please make your way down to the Eco Hub and grab some delicious home cooked vegan food.
